Memnon definitely needs that boost since horde armies cannot reinforce one another. As such, it’s possible to have full-stack armies in one go. You can then activate these to add units to your recruitment pool. You don’t actually fight in those lands as they just appear on a map in a special panel. By constructing specific buildings or researching certain techs, you unlock territories held by the Pharaoh. One of Memnon’s unique mechanics is called Pharaoh’s Servant. Needless to say, he became my Antagonist later in the campaign. It did happen so frequently that Odysseus, who was the only Greek leader not at war with me, swooped in to capture those lands. Razing nets a lot of resources, subsequently turning cities into free real estate that can be colonized by the AI. As a horde faction akin to Penthesilea of the Amazons, Memnon’s armies cannot occupy settlements (only sacking and razing are allowed). I found Memnon’s campaign in Total War Saga: Troy – Rhesus & Memnon more engaging than Rhesus’. Then again, I presume that this was done to give the Greeks another opposing force to the north (which tends to be filled with forgettable minor factions). Basically, he died without even going to battle, which makes his inclusion a bit odd. Owing to the schemes of Diomedes and Odysseus, he was killed by the former while he was staying in his camp. This King of Thrace arrived late in the war. Rhesus, meanwhile, made me scratch my head a bit. Memnon’s inclusion makes sense, as he was one of the true heroes of the age.
Considered equal to Achilles in strength and valor, he was nonetheless vanquished by the famous Greek warrior in one-on-one combat. The Creative Assembly is generating hype around its Total War Saga brand, a move which suggests that the official reveal of a new Total War Saga title is imminent. By making Fall of the Samurai an official Total War Saga title, Creative Assembly is retroactively improving their Saga brand by adding the name to what is, in my opinion, one of the best Total War experiences to date. The company has trademarked the name " Total War Saga: Troy", which suggests that the company will soon reveal a new Total War Saga game. So why is Creative Assembly doing this? The answer is simple. Newcomers to the Total War franchise will be able to purchase Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai for £6.24 until August 19th, giving the game a 75% discount on Steam.
The only exception fo this free DLC offer is the game's Blood Pack, with the game's Tsu, Obama, Saga and Sendai packs becoming free add-ons for the game. So what does this mean for gamers? For starters, this means that all existing owners of Fall of the Samurai will receive all of the game's DLC for free. Fall of the Samurai acted as the template for the Total War Saga brand, and now the game is becoming an official Total War Saga title. Total War Sagas are smaller, more refined Total War experiences, games which are focused on specific timeframes and battles, rather than longer historical eras. The Creative Assembly has announced that Total War: Shogun II - Fall of the Samurai is joining the Total War Saga family, transitioning the game from being a standalone DLC to become a part of Total War's Saga brand.
